Ball Field

There is a large field at Clear Lake which is ideal for a number of activities - structured or unstructured. The field has a diamond for games like baseball or kickball, and plenty of additional space. There is some equipment available at camp - kickballs, soccer balls, basketballs, etc. - but specific items should be brought by the renters.

Bicycling

There are many forest roads right outside Clear Lake's entrance to enjoy on wheels, and the trail around neighboring Colwell Lake is improved to accommodate bikes. Make sure that you are well-prepared for rugged conditions, heat, and insects - proper footwear, helmets, bug spray, and plenty of water are highly recommended.

Fishing

The waters of 109-acre Clear Lake hold many varieties of fish; large and smallmouth bass, walleye, northern pike, yellow perch, and sunfish may all be caught on a good day. Cast from the dock right at camp, or put in a small boat at the access site to broaden your reach. Keep your Michigan fishing license on you at all times, of course!

Planned Activities

Clear Lake Education Center offers facilitation of some activities, such as team-building, low ropes elements, and our high ropes challenge course, that may be arranged for your school or rental group at an additional cost. The high ropes course may only be facilitated by trained and certified Clear Lake staff members.  Some of our programs are adaptable for rental groups (e.g., outdoor skills, wildlife, leave no trace). Please contact us for more information!
